To truly understand Central Oregon real estate, you have to understand the people, neighborhoods, history, and lifestyle that make this region unique. I’ve called Bend, Oregon home since 1976, long before Bend became a nationally recognized destination for outdoor recreation, luxury homes, and High Desert living.
Today, I help buyers and sellers navigate the Bend, Redmond, and Central Oregon real estate market with a service-first approach shaped by decades of leadership, construction knowledge, and deep community involvement.
Before entering real estate, I spent more than 30 years in the restaurant and hospitality industry, beginning as a dishwasher while attending high school in Bend. Over the years, I worked through nearly every position imaginable... bartender, restaurant operator, owner, General Manager for the iconic Deschutes Brewery, owner/operator of Mexicali Rose and O’Healy’s, and later Food & Beverage Director for Broken Top Club.
That background taught me how to lead teams, solve problems under pressure, manage complex operations, and most importantly, listen carefully to what people truly need. Hospitality shaped the way I do business today: approachable, responsive, detail-oriented, and centered on long-term relationships rather than transactions.
My transition into real estate was a natural evolution. After years in hospitality, I moved into the building supply industry before renovating homes myself. That experience gave me a practical “behind-the-walls” understanding of homes that many real estate brokers simply do not possess.
When the market shifted in 2008, I saw an opportunity to combine my local knowledge, renovation experience, and research-driven mindset into a different kind of real estate service for Central Oregon buyers and sellers.
For the last 17 years, I’ve helped clients evaluate homes with a builder’s eye and a strategic perspective rooted in experience. Whether helping first-time buyers in Redmond, advising clients relocating to Bend, evaluating lock-and-leave properties, golf course communities, gated neighborhoods, or legacy homes, I focus on helping people make informed decisions with confidence.
I believe real estate is more than a sale, it’s a major life transition tied to family, lifestyle, and long-term financial decisions. My role is to do the research, ask the right questions, identify potential concerns early, and guide clients through the process with honesty and clarity.
My roots in Central Oregon extend far beyond real estate.
Community involvement has always been important to me. From 1993 to 2000, I served on the Board of Directors for the Downtown Bend Business Association, then widely known as the Bend Downtowners, during a pivotal period in downtown Bend’s transformation and growth.
From 2010 through 2018, I served on the Central Oregon Association of REALTORS® committee for Building a Better Central Oregon, supporting initiatives focused on responsible growth, housing, and strengthening the communities we live in.
I’ve also remained deeply connected to the outdoor culture that defines the High Desert lifestyle. From 2013 to 2018, I volunteered as an “On Snow” ski coach for Summit High School athletics and have spent more than 13 years helping run the alpine start for the Pole Pedal Paddle race alongside my wife, son, and an incredible team of volunteers.
I understand that people are not simply buying homes in Bend or Redmond, they’re investing in a lifestyle centered around community, outdoor recreation, family, and connection to the mountains, trails, and culture of Central Oregon.
Whether you’re searching for your first home, downsizing, relocating, investing, or preparing to sell a long-held family property, I bring decades of local perspective, construction insight, and relationship-driven service to every client interaction.
One-on-one guidance, strategic thinking, and a commitment to your goals—every step of the way.
